Membership is voluntary and helps fund efforts to promote downtown. LAVA uses various local advertising mediums, such as newspaper, radio, e-mail blasts and signage. Fifty percent of membership fees are spent on advertising.

Additional funds raised by the Los Altos Arts & Wine Festival help with administrative costs, expenses for other downtown special events and donations that benefit the community at large. Members can be assured that their membership dollar is a respected asset and used with the utmost of care.

LAVA membership is open to downtown triangle businesses (San Antonio Road, First Street & Edith Avenue), businesses outside the downtown triangle supportive of downtown and residents of Los Altos.
