Every penny of profit from the Tree Lot is used in direct support of the club’s community service endeavors.
Each year, our club seeks out five promising, motivated high school students–giving them the opportunity to be the first in their family ever to attend college. Our club awards them a full year’s scholarship to attend one of our local community colleges.
The Los Altos Kiwanis Club produces the annual Kiwanis Special Games, now in its 40th year (Friday, May 18, 2018). This is truly a day that makes a difference in the lives of 900 severely challenged kids from schools in the Santa Clara County.

The Los Altos Kiwanis Club supports kids through frequent community service projects, and financial help to Los Altos school PTAs, and many local non-profits including, among many others: CHAC, The Los Altos Town Crier Holiday Fund, AAUW Tech Trek, Turkeys donated to Ecumenical Hunger Program, Mountain View Police Dreams and Futures Program, and the Ye Olde Town band.

Nestled on a tree-lined street in downtown Los Altos, Linden Tree Books has been helping readers and pre-readers discover the magic of books for more than forty years.Founded by Linda and Dennis Ronberg (who combined their first names for the name of our shop) in 1984, Linden Tree Children's Recordings and Books specialized in children’s music and books, hosting celebrated children’s musicians like Raffi, Charlotte Diamond, Sharon, Lois and Bram and many others.
Today, Linden Tree is a children’s bookstore with a highly curated selection of books reflecting a diverse range of voices and stories, including books for adults (parents need to read too!). We regularly host author events and signings, school fundraisers, writing and art workshops, book clubs, birthday parties, and more.
Since purchasing Linden Tree in September 2019, friends Chris Saccheri and Flo Grosskurth have expanded Linden Tree’s role as a community hub, hosting book fairs at local schools, and annual events like the Find Waldo, Battle of the Books, and the Musical Concert Series.

"Bringing our Community Together to Share the Warmth of the Holiday Season"
Since 1977, the Los Altos Festival of Lights Parade has celebrated the beginning of the Holiday Season in Downtown Los Altos. The theme “A Child’s Holiday Fantasy” comes to life with colorful floats, local high school marching bands and costumed characters -- all lit up with thousands of lights. And of course Santa and his reindeer!
The parade is produced by the Los Altos Festival of Lights Association, a non-profit, all volunteer organization of community members. Funding is provided by community grants and donations from our generous spectators.
